Salida - 4.0 Level Pickleball Night

P2P Pickleball Club Members:  Are you looking for a fun way to play against a variety of club members at your high level of play?  Sign up for the Wednesday night 4.0 play at the Salida Centennial  Courts!

While this email is going out to the entire club, this evening's play is only for people who fit the description for Level 4.0! Read the 4.0 skill levels below as well as the other skill level definitions to assist you in determining your level.

4.0 Skill Level (also possesses all 3.5 skills)

- Primarily plays in an offensive mode rather than reactively

- Controls and places serves and return of serves to best advantage 

-Puts advanced playing strategies into the game, particularly in dinking

- Consistent and dependable groundstrokes, volleys and overheads

- Accuracy in placing lobs 

- Consistently varies shots for competitive advantage, uses power shots selectively

- Communicates and moves well with partner - easily "switches" court position

- Very comfortable playing at the non-volley zone 

- Works with partner to control the line, keeping opponents back and driving them off the line 

- Can block hard volleys directed at them

- Has good footwork and moves laterally, backward and forward with ease 

- Hits overhead shots consistently, often as put aways

- Ability to change a hard shot to a soft shot

- Consistently executes effective drop shots that are not easily returned for advantage

- Can effectively poach

- Hits a low number of unforced errors per game

- Regularly demonstrates "anticipation of play"

- Self-correcting during play

- Consistently is a multi-dimensional player and/or is exceptionally dominant in a limited playing repertoire

Please sign-up and show up with your paddle.  Arrive promptly at  6:00 to warm up and get ready to play.

We have 4 pickleball courts reserved for this activity and are limiting the registration to 16 people.    

These events require a multiple of 4 people to fill the courts.  Please do not sign up for this event if you are not confident you will be able to attend the event (barring a last-minute emergency).  Please give as much notice as you can if you sign up but can't attend.  Players are expected to play the entire scheduled time.  

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS 4.0 LEVEL PLAY IF YOU DON'T FIT THE LEVEL DESCRIPTION!  WE WILL HAVE OTHER WEDNESDAY NIGHT PLAY FOR OTHER LEVELS HELD IN SALIDA AND BV.  DO NOT SIGN UP FOR MULTIPLE LEVELS.  YOU MAY PARTICIPATE IN ONLY ONE LEVEL EACH MONTH.
