Peak to Peak Instructor Requirements 

 Peak to Peak Sponsored Lessons, Clinics and Learn to Play Classes 

  Requirements to become a Peak to Peak Pickleball qualified instructor teaching classes offered by Peak to Peak Pickleball Club. 

  1. Become a PPR, PCI, or IPTPA Certified instructor and maintain your certification 
  2. Take two lessons for a total of 4 hours, preferably with 2 different instructors (some suggestions below)   
  3. Shadow a pickleball instructor for 4 hours (Private Lessons, Clinics, Learn to Plays).  (New pickleball instructors). 
  4. Hold 2 practice lessons to hone teaching skills.  Invite 4 or more club members or friends to participate and gather feedback from them after the sessions. (New pickleball instructors) 
  5. Continuing Education Highly Recommended: 
  6. Suggested instructors/sites: Springs Pickleball in Colo Springs w/ Sandeep, Peak Pickleball in Colo Springs w/ Nick Patterson, Lifetime Fitness in Colo Springs or Denver, Jim Kochanski, Peter Wong BV, Stephanie McDonald BV.   
    • These are just a few options as there are many more locations on the Front Range and around the country. 
  7. In lieu of requirements  1-4, demonstrate  three years of prior experience in teaching pickleball.
  8. Once requirements are met, contact club president or chairperson of Player Development Committee to get name listed on this page on the P2P website. 

   

  • Private Lessons 

  1. Become a PPR, PCI or IPTPA Certified instructor 

  1. Follow guidelines in the following document if you would like to be an instructor teaching private lessons at facility rented by Peak to Peak Pickleball Club (Centennial Courts, Chaffee County Fairgrounds, Buena Vista Recreation District Courts, Darren Patterson Christian Academy).
